Statement of belief: “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” (John 17:17 KJV)

Created 5968[v2023-12-04] 01 17 2040 [Wed 2025-04-16] – In consequence of the strength of my findings in BM 41222 vs my previous, now obsolete, analysis of BM 32312.

My Re-Analysis of

BM 32312

Discovering, and/or Confirming

the Exact Regnal Years of Šamaš-šumu-ukīn, King of Babylon

Under His Brother Ashurbanipal, King of Assyria

and the Exact Date of the Hiritu War

Between the Two of Them During Šamaš-šumu-ukīn’s 16th Year

By Means of 15 Precise Astronomical Observations

As Recorded on BM 32312

My Within Re-Analysis of BM 32312 was Prompted by Means of the

19 Precise Astronomical Observations Recorded on BM 41222

Abstract and Summary:

Upon making my analysis of BM 41222, I realized that my prior work on BM 32312 (in 2014) is obsolete and in need of prompt revision, because of its importance in order to correctly establish the date of the Hiritu War faught in Šamaš-šumu-ukīn’s 16th year, which event had heretofore been serving as my chief anchor in time for knowing Šamaš-šumu-ukīn’s years of reign.

The Hiritu battle is also mentioned in the Akitu Chronicle (BM 86739) (from caeno) written by a scribe intended to record the interruptions of Akitu's celebrations. His registration says:

"On the 16th year (of the kingdom) of Shamash-shuma-ukin, from the month of Ayyar to the month of Tebet, the butler puts up a selection in Akkad. On the 19th day of the month of Tebet, Asiria and Akkad got into a war. Avoiding the enemy, the king turned back to Babylon. On the 27th day of month of Addar, the Assyrian army and the Akkadian army fought a battle in Hiritu. The Akkadian army broke the battle and suffered a smashing defeat. The state of war persisted; the battles came one after another.”

A primary obstacle for correctly dating BM 32312 has been, for many, the confused numbering of the columns. That is, as those columns relate to order of time. Being aware of this problem, after completing my analysis of column i, and realizing that the one eclipse event recorded in column ii could not possibly be placed in time less than 2˝+ years after all the six very closely dated events in column i, I concluded that column ii should probably fill in the gap. And so it did! Column iii proved to be the last one of the four columns.

The Babylonian clay tablet known as British Museum 41222 is a very exact record of a number of events tied primarily to Mercury and Mars. After first working my way through the other clay tablets in the list of eight clay tablets under References below, I was able to unequivocally correlate almost all the events recorded on BM 41222 with their equivalent celestial events as rendered in Starry Night Pro 8 (SN8).

The following correlations were identified and confirmed on the BM 32312 clay tablet. Here listed in order of time:

Considerations and astronomical correlations, beginning with a focus on 652 BCE:

Ok fit to line 1: Terribly early New Moon #1 when first “bright and high” on Feb 23, 652 BCE. However, the bad weather may well indicate that the winter season was not yet past:

2  Night

3  of the 2nd, (and) the 2nd, overcast. The south wind blew. The 3rd, very overcast. In the afternoon it rained.

The Jul 2, 652 BCE eclipse (umbral) ended 29 min before sunset in Babylon; not visible. The Moon was then far away from Perseus, the Old Man:

Prior to Jul 2, 652 BCE, the closest eclipses visible from Babylon were Jan 19, 653 BCE and Jul 13, 653 BCE. At the time of both, the Moon was far away from Perseus, the Old Man:

Good fit to line 1 and 2: After Jul 2, 652 BCE, the closest eclipse in time visible from Babylon was Nov 6, 650 BCE, at which time the eclipse did occur next to the Old Man (Perseus)

On Nov 5-6, 650 BCE: “The 15th, an eclipse? first appearance in the Old Man.

Excellent fit to lines 5’ and 6’: Given that the diameter of the Moon’s halo is 22°-23°, I find that on May 14, 649 BCE Mercury was located at the inner edge of the halo shortly before sunrise.

Exactly as recorded: “The 20th?, the moon was surrounded by a halo, (and) Mercury [stood] in i[t ....],

except that “20th?” was ‘27th’, and given also that the Moon is never near Mercury (and the Sun) except for about two days before or after astronomical New Moon,

i.e. near the end or beginning of each lunar month, and when it gets too close to the Sun it is invisible and is not bright enough to be surrounded by a halo.

Our Creator God has humor!

Coincidence or Design?

You Decide…

Upon finalizing the above list[1] of 15 astronomical observations as recorded on BM 32312, I was made to realize some strange correlations between those dates and my own beginnings. Coincidence or design? Pure chance or Providence? You decide:

1.     The number 2,600, is the 100-fold multiple of 26, 2,600 meaning much the same as 26, albeit on a higher level. The number 26 has multiple correlations with God, our Creator, with the name Jehovah, and with the Hebrew letter aleph, the first letter of the alphabet.

2.     651 BCE is exactly 2,600 years prior to 1950, the year I first saw the light of day outside my mother’s womb.

3.     Mar 3, the date when the exact positions of Mars, Jupiter, the haloed Moon, and the star called Pi Arietas were observed and recorded on the clay tablet BM 32312, is also the date when I first saw the light of day outside my mother’s womb.

4.     Mar 10, the date of the Hiritu war in Sippar between the armies of two brothers, the King of Babylon and the King of Assyria, was begun and lost by the King of Babylon, is also the date when the representative of the State of California created an image (called Birth Certificate) of my name in behalf of the State.

5.     Thus, in a sense, it might be said that the war between Babylon and the Sons and Daughters of the Creator, the war between the brainless and heartless Tin men of the State and between God’s own living beings of flesh and blood, had an important beginning exactly, to the day, 2,600 years prior to the day that I first saw the light of day.

6.     Also evidenced by the fact that this study of mine completely revises my prior study of BM 32312, 11 years ago this year. Thus, the constant war between truth and error within each of our minds, mine included.

7.     Praise the Lord of Hosts, our Creator and Redeemer, and the name Jehoshua, used by One of His foremost Sons, who stood up for the truth even to the point of death on a cross. ‘Sign or cross’ being also the meaning of the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet: taw. Revelation 21:6.
