Bible Study
A Little of What I Find in the Bible
about…
Grains & Grasses
as Food NOT for the Sons and
Daughters of God
but as Food for Animals Only…
cf. Grain as a Mark of the Beast…
Key Background
- that was necessary
for me before I could see the light that I now perceive in the Bible passages
below:
For many years, even
for decades, I had been wondering about, and praying for more light and insight
re certain key passages in the Bible. Most particularly so re the exact meaning
provided within our Creator’s initial instructions and definition of what is
His food designed for those that were created into the image of the Creators
themselves.
I had noticed that
there was a distinct difference between verses 29 and 30 of Genesis chapter one
(Gen 1:29, 30.) Yet it escaped me exactly what that difference was, as
originally intended. I carefully studied the various available translations,
while also doing my best in understanding the original Hebrew words. Yet the
exact meaning escaped me. For many years I had to satisfy myself with the fact
that “I do not know yet…”
Then, after learning
many other things that God taught me from the Bible and from the details of His
creation, and after doing my best in doing God’s bidding, so far as His
guidance in healing some of my neighbors and friends in life. Well, after all
that I was blessed with the privilege of learning ever more about the most
recent scientific discoveries as published within the scientific journals
available on PubMed. Most of this was free by means of the overabundant
knowledge and insights provided through the almost too many health Summits
available on the internet these days. Then it happened that a course designed by Dr Tom O’Bryan for the training of Certified
Gluten Practitioners (CGP) was provided to me. In this course Dr Tom is
bringing to the forefront many of the most important findings in said
scientific journals re all that which has to do with gluten and with gluten
related disorders. Adding to that the teachings of Dr Peter Osborne in his book
No Grain No Pain, and his bringing to the surface a considerably more
comprehensive picture re all grains and grasses, all of which have been shown
to contain various forms of gluten and other constituents that mankind is
unable to digest… Well, adding that, the answers to my prior longstanding
questions rapidly began to pour in.
It suddenly became
obvious to me that the findings of a certain researcher named Fasano, who
published his initial paper on that particular in 2004, made it clear that
everyone among mankind thus far tested responded, within five minutes of
putting a grain product in his or her mouth, by ripping holes in the intestinal
wall such that whatever partially digested matter could slowly but surely leak
into the blood circulation where it was not supposed to be. This leakage,
commonly known by the term ‘leaky gut,’ would then trigger an immune response
for the immediate purpose of cleaning up the mess resulting from said leakage
of the intestinal wall. As a not too common event this would be just fine and
well. Yet, seeing that mankind has somehow fallen into the trap of eating such
gluten containing grain products as a major constituent in most every meal,
said immune reaction would then naturally become, not an infrequent, possibly
totally benign event, but a chronic state of inflammation throughout the body.
The end result would be, and is, the entire spectrum of autoimmune diseases,
that is, the entire spectrum of chronic illnesses, that mankind is currently
displaying throughout the world. There are, of course, many many more details
involved in said process, but perhaps these few words may serve as a brief
summary of the background to my subsequent Bible discoveries re grains and
grasses, that is, re such foods as most of us have always thus far believed,
taught, and understood as providing some of the most fundamental ingredients of
a healthy diet for man. Yes, even as taught and promoted within the Bible
itself. Could it be that we all were suffering from a major misunderstanding of
true Bible teaching? Could it be that we have all misunderstood our Creator’s
original design and intent with much of that which is written in the Holy
Scriptures?
A First Eye-Opener…
God has blessed me with
many most valuable insights into His Word by opening to me the importance of a
better understanding of the most focal meaning of every Hebrew word within the
original Scriptures. Most especially I have learned to appreciate the
importance within the Bible study principle of focusing upon the context of the
very first instance in the Bible of any word I am seeking to more fully
understand.
Thus it was, that one
day I found reason for seeking the very first occurrence in the Bible of the
Hebrew word translated ‘bread.’ I found it in Genesis 3:19.
God had also shown me
that every word in the Hebrew language is built letter by letter by the use of letters,
each one of which also has a word meaning, into a structure consistent with the
intended meaning of every word thus being built.
In thus looking upon
the three letter Hebrew word for bread, לחם (Strong’s
H3898-H3901, cf. H3859) it first became obvious to me that said word could be
subdivided into two parts, the preposition -ל, meaning
‘to, towards, before, etc.,’ and the word חם (Strong’s
H2524-2526) meaning ‘hot, warm, etc..’ It came to me then that isn’t it true
also that most all grain products must be heated one way or another before
being palatable and useful for food. That is, as baked in the oven, as boiled
on the stove, as fried in a pan or over the fire, etc.. Indeed, not much grain
is ever being consumed in its raw form by most any one among mankind.
A Second Eye-Opener…
So what might I now be
prepared to discover re the distinct differences between verses 29 and 30 in
Genesis chapter One (Gen 1:29, 30?)
Asking that question, it occurred to me that animals, such as cows, sheep,
horses, etc. are equipped with a digestive system of stomachs such as make them
able to sustain themselves by gracing primarily upon grasses as also upon the
seed of grasses, that is, upon all species of grains. And isn’t it true that
grasses are green? That is, as in “green herb” (Gen 1:30) and in
contradistinction from “herb bearing seed” (Gen 1:29?)
A Third Eye-Opener…
Not long after having
recognized the above said, I was reminded of the context within Gen 3:19:
“In the sweat
of your face shall you eat bread, till you return to the ground… to dust shall you
return.”
Now, isn’t it true that
a most eye-opening characteristic, pertaining to any and all preparation of
grain into a food of man, is tied to an excessive amount of labor, that is, as
in “the sweat of your
face?” Consider each and all of
the following necessary steps in the production and preparation of grains as
food, that is, bread, for men: Preparation of the soil (multiple steps), sowing
the seed, watering the soil, harvesting the grain, threshing, milling, and then
gathering the fuel necessary for heating the grain. Indeed, isn’t it true that
a major portion of our industrialized society is designed for purposes of
facilitating this process such that men will be able to get their preferred
forms of grain?
A Forth Eye-Opener…
Within the same verse
Gen 3:19 there is yet more to learn re the consequence of “you eat bread…” That
is, as per the original warning found in Gen 2:17:
“You shall not eat of it:
for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.”
That is, as
reemphasized in Gen 3:19:
“In the sweat of your face
shall you eat bread, till you return to the ground…
to dust shall you return.”
A Fifth Eye-Opener…
Thence it wasn’t long
before I was reminded of the dream of the foreign enemy soldier as revealed to
Gideon per Judges 7:13-15:
“13 And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream to
his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, see, a cake of
barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came to a tent, and smote it that
it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.
“14 And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of
Gideon
the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand has God delivered Midian,
and all the host.
“15 And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the
interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of
Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD has delivered into your hand the host of
Midian.”
Isn’t there a lesson,
greatly overlooked for millennia, inherent in the nature of said “sword of Gideon?” Or, what is the foundation of most all disease,
death, and dying, among mankind today, if not our traditions in the form of all
its variations of “cake
of barley bread?” That is,
considering the above said scientific findings of the last five to fifteen
years or so (2004-2017) re the inflammatory, in the end deadly, consequence of
using grain as a chief staple of food for men?
A Sixth Eye-Opener…
Indeed, this one had
been revealed to me many years prior, but in this particular context, yes, it
may be properly placed in this order of events. That is, what all is implied
within the concept of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil? To make a long
story short: I had learned that this tree is standing as a representative of
any such school of thought such as is constituted of a mixture of truth and
error. That is, any such teaching as is building upon man’s own considerations
and constructions such as constitutes in effect an overstepping of the
boundaries provided in advance by the warnings and by the instructions weaved
into the first beginnings of the Word of God.
As such I find no
problem in applying the Tree of Knowledge to all of that which is being
involved in the preparation of grains into any species of food or bread for
mankind.
A Seventh
Eye-Opener…
So what about bread
being such a focal object within the tabernacle and within the tabernacle
service provided by God through Moses? Isn’t all that properly understood in
terms of teaching each and all of us to use bread as a primary food? That is,
as in the “show bread” of Exodus 25:30? And likewise, as in the “unleavened
bread” designed as the focal object of “the Feast of Unleavened Bread?”
Not to mention also the
Waving of the Sheaf sacrifice that is placed at the very center of the Seventh
Day Sabbath falling within said Feast of Unleavened Bread. Indeed, the
sacrifice that stands as the very foundation of the fifty day count towards the
Day of Sabbaths, aka. Pentecost, that per God´s own definitions falls on the
seventh Seventh Day Sabbath following said Waving of the Sheaf sacrifice. That
is, a whole fifty days designed for purposes of carefully considering, and for
asking God about, His intent and purpose for those Sabbath Feasts of His!
Consider it! Selah!
Or else, could it be
that said bread was being placed as the very most central and focal object,
within a sacrificial system, for the very purpose of waking up, if possible,
any one among His People, to the realization that there is something of life
vs. death importance to be discovered within our choice of using ‘bread,’ that
is ‘grain products’, as a main constituent of that which has been, for ever so
long, a traditional food of men? Indeed, could it be that this central
placement of grains and of bread is designed from the very beginning for the
very purpose of calling the attention of someone among God’s Sons and Daughters
towards the connection between the choice between the two trees of Gen 2:16,
17, and between of grains, bread, and all the products thereof as a food of men?
That is, as in the
scientific findings, discovered and published only now, that is, since the year
2004 or so? Consider it!
Isn’t it true then that
Yeshu (Jesus) ate bread, and that the feeding of the 5000 and of the 4000 as
thus recorded, were miracles providing bread for the people to eat? But what
were Yeshu’s concluding words and lesson? Consider the last words within the
quote below! Mark 8:19-21:
“19 When I broke the five
loaves among five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments took you up?
They say to him, Twelve.
“20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full of
fragments took you up? And they said, Seven.
“21 And he said to them, How is it that you do not understand?”
Furthermore, what is the real meaning of the Greek New Testament words that are translated ‘bread?’ Per Strong’s Concordance I find only one Greek word translated bread in KJV: Strong’s G740: “αρτος, artos, from 142; bread (as raised) or a loaf.” Under Strong’s G142 I find a reference to Strong’s Η5375-78: “to lift… to lead astray… to delude… to seduce…” Indeed, as in the raising of bread, but also as in being deluded or seduced, as were Eve and Adam in the Garden of Eden. Another word found in KJV is ‘meat.’ This English word is a translation based upon several different Greek words: Strong’s G5160, G5315, G1033-5, G4620, G4371, G5132. Several of these words are better understood in terms of ‘food’ generally, not ‘meat’ specifically.
And what is the context of the very first instance of the word ‘bread’ in the New Testament, that is, as found in Matt 4:3-4? Isn’t Yeshu responding to Satan’s temptation by using the negative in direct association with the word ‘bread?’ And how about the second instance of said word? Matt 6:11, “Give us today our daily bread.” That is, part of the Lord’s prayer as taught by Yeshu, our Savior? What about the immediate context of those words?: “Hallowed be thy name.” Or alternatively, “May thy words and names be better understood.”
Thus we are faced, even here and now, with a choice! That is, what lesson are we, am I, choosing to gather from our/my own, interpretation of these words? Will we/I continue to give preference to our/my own traditions as taught us/me by men, or else, are we willing, finally, to wake up and realize that we have been deluded and seduced into believing a lie of one species or another? Or isn’t that a choice we are given even in the realm of the here, now, and I?
Now, as to the number ‘seven.’ Well, isn’t it true that the very first word of the Seventh Day Sabbath Commandment is none other than “Remember…?” Exodus 20:8. That is, as in afterthought, as in foresight based upon careful consideration of prior history and experience? And isn’t that one chief characteristic upon the foreheads of God’s own Sons and Daughters? Cf. Ezekiel 9:4!
