A Little about the Meaning of Names
Satan and Devil and
a Little about the Recognition and
Respect Due
Unto the Boundaries
Surrounding Each One amongst Us and
Surrounding Each One of Our Families
Remember this: I have no desire to be different just for the sake of being different! Remember what Ellen Gould White says about God’s People being a Peculiar People and the name Seventh-day Adventist? Nonetheless, when being different serves an important purpose, well, then I'm willing to be different and suffer a certain amount of unwarranted persecution, loss of confidence and trust, and/or spite, etc. for it. Many of us tend to be too controlling in areas that are outside of and beyond our appointed dominion. When we act in such ways, oftentimes merely by our attitudes, all too frequently shared with others behind each others back so to speak, usually under a cloak of 'sworn' secrecy and 'in confidence, thus we become in fact 'rumor mongers' [the names 'Satan' and ‘Devil’ both mean[i] 'traducer' or 'rumor monger' (cf. Webster’s Dictionary)], we are trespassing upon one another's freedom of choice, i.e. stealing and detracting from one another’s good reputation, which is in effect a trespass upon the Eighth Commandment, i.e. the Eighth Article within the Covenant between God and Man (cf. Exodus 20:15 and Deut. 5:19.)
The alternative to slander is a simple principle clearly taught by Yeshua. Unfortunately it is all too rarely practiced even among professed Christians. The principle is found in Matthew 18:15-22.
If I can, in my own life, stand up and demonstrate the power of living up to the above principle in small ways, easily understood by others, and in areas that are totally within my own dominion - since demonstrating it in greater more important ways are often beyond the grasp of a lot of fear filled people - then perhaps my action will serve a purpose as a valuable lesson, as a pearl, from which some others may benefit. Let me exemplify:
In
When, on the contrary, any one among us, I, you, or anyone, stands up, in word or action, stating in effect:
'I will stand up for all that freedom which God has intended for me to have within my own dominion (Compare Gen. 1:28) and by so doing I will likewise defend the equal rights and the equal freedom of choice of my fellow man, each one within His or Her assigned dominion.'
well, then our world will have become a better world - if only in a seemingly very small way.
However, notice that one of the greatest principles discovered in physics within the last decades is called 'the Butterfly Effect.' This principle has gotten its name from the discovered fact that even minute changes, e.g. a butterfly flying from one flower to another, anywhere in the Universe will have a major impact upon the events everywhere, e.g. the weather situation on the other side of the planet three days later.
Here are some most important questions each One among us ought to ask ourselves more often:
1.
What power and strength
of mine do I contribute unto the power of gossip and thus also unto Satan and
unto the Beast referenced in Revelation 13:2, 4, & 15?
2.
What can I learn in
regards the remedy from the gossip problem, referenced in question #1, out of
the phrases “and no man could learn that song but” and “And in their mouth was
found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” as found
in Revelation 14:3 & 5?
3.
What part
responsibility do I have in the problems I perceive in my own life and in the
lives of my neighbor?
May the Word of Yahweh Bless and teach each of us!
