Calendar of Events

-
A Study in Progress:
(Therefore, please forgive me for any errors, whether
words remaining from past thinking and not yet corrected or thoughts of mine
that are still suffering from being in error until somehow I am given
additional rays of light!)
Abstract:
The table below is being created as an expansion of a detail within my table
entitled ‘Scripture
Feasts of the Years of Yeshua’s Ministry.’ That is, the summer events tied
to Passover and Pentecost, extended even into the 6th month, Elul,
of 16 CE. In order to be able to fit all the pieces of this puzzle of the
chronology of the events tied to this time period a tabular synopsis was also created and found
to be most helpful.
Notice
in particular how that this scenario makes it obvious that Yeshua’s reckoning
of the year was 1 month and 3 days ahead of that of the Jews during these
months!
The
table below represents my 2nd version of finding a valid scenario.
In comparison with my 1st
scenario, which appeared promising initially, but which in the end seemed strained
and not quite comfortable, this scenario fits like hand in glove most
comfortably, and as such I find it quite confirmatory due to its multiple
points of finger print fitting and associated eye openers…
Although,
as before, I still (after having been able to exactly date the Luke 6:1 event
to Hag HaOmer, the Waving of the Sheaf Sabbath) do have trouble getting the
point of Yeshua’s response to the Pharisees per Luke 6:3-5, I believe I now
have much better basis for discovering its true significance…

1) Yeshua’s
healing Peter’s mother-in-law, and 2) Yeshua’s sailing to the countries of the
Gadarenes:
Having discovered potential anchor
points in time, in the double dated, Seventh Day Sabbath – New Moon, events of
1) Yeshua visiting Peter’s house and healing Peter’s wife, and 2) sailing
across lake Gennesaret with his disciples and stilling a storm, we may pursue
these events as follows:
1.
Yeshua’s visit has the earmark of being a Sabbath event. This is
indicated by Matthew’s words “When the even was come, they brought unto
him many…” in the below passage. That is, the language of this
passage indicates that people had been waiting for the end of Sabbath before
approaching Yeshua about healing the sick. The timing of this evening event is
also indicated in Mark 1:35 “And well before nightfall he stood up, went out, and departed unto a place in the wilderness to observe the New Moon.”
Furthermore, Luke’s words (4:42,) “and the
people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart
from them” indicates that Yeshua’s leaving the place where they
were waiting made the people fear lest he would not come back and heal their
sick.
Matthew 8:14 KJV And when Jesus
was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a
fever.
Matthew 8:15 KJV And he touched
her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.
Matthew 8:16 KJV When the even was come, they
brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits
with his word, and healed all that were sick:
2. The
nocturnal sailing across the sea began on the evening of the New Moon. This is
indicated by the Greek words of Luke 8:22, which words I believe are better
translated “at
the beginning of the first of the month.”
The parallel passage in Mark 4:1-35 provides us with evidence that these were
events of a Seventh Day Sabbath afternoon and the subsequent evening!:
Luke 8:22 και εγενετο
εν μια των
ημερων και
αυτος ενεβη
εις πλοιον και
οι μαθηται
αυτου και
ειπεν προς
αυτους
διελθωμεν εις
το περαν της λιμνης
και ανηχθησαν
Luke 8:22 TLT Now it came to pass at the beginning of
the first of the month, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said
unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they
launched forth.
Luke 8:22 KJV Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went
into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the
other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
That the events
recorded in Mark 4 are contiguous without any intermediary days is indicated by
the language found in Mark 4:1-35, and in particular by the words “And the same day… (v. 35:)”
Mark 4:1 KJV And he began again to
teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so
that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by
the sea on the land.
Mark 4:2 KJV And he taught them
many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
…
Mark 4:35 KJV And the same day,
when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side…
Given that we already know that these events are
placed between Passover 15 CE and Passover 17 CE, we may next proceed by
determining which New Moons that were first being visible at the end of a
Seventh Day Sabbath during this time period:

Reviewing
the results displayed in the above table, I find only four, or, if inclement
weather, five Sabbath end New Moons following Yeshua’s baptism in 15 CE through
the Passover in 17 CE (at which time John the Baptist was beheaded as recorded
in Mark 6 and Luke 9.) Given the above two events, items #1 (Mark 1 & Luke 4,) and #2 (Mark 4 & Luke 8,) plus one more intermediate event (Mark 2 &
Luke 5,) all of which took place on a Sabbath end New Moon, the last one of
which seems firmly
dated to “Abib 1, Sat Mar 28, 16 CE,” I find only two remaining options for
event #1. That is, 1) Tishri
1, Sat Oct 3, 15 CE, and 2) Adar 1, Fri Feb 28, 16 CE.
Re

city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days” (Mark 1:21; Luke 4:31) vs. Yeshua’s and his family’s
apparent tradition[19] of spending their summers in Capernaum and their
winters in Nazareth, and 2) the contextual ties between item #1 and Pentecost, the Day of the Sabbaths, I find that more than likely item
#1, Yeshua’s visit to Peter’s house, where he healed Peter’s
mother-in-law, took place on the Seventh-day Sabbath Av 30 [Sat Aug 22, 16 CE,]
prior to his taking a Sabbath afternoon walk to a lookout spot where he would
be able to observe the New Moon.
Given
that event #2 took place “by the sea side” (Mark 4:1, 35-36) and that per Mark 2:1
(cf. below!) Yeshua seemed to have a tradition of spending some time in
Capernaum during the hot days of the summers, it seems clear that Yeshua had
returned from his sojourn to Nain (cf. Luke 7:11-17,) and also that this event
is not an event in the middle of the winter such as Tevet 1 would be (cf. the
above table!) I therefore conclude, from the above, that event #2 above, when Yeshua and his
disciples set out to sail across lake Gennesaret, took place on the beginning
of Day One [of the week and of the month,] that is, on Elul 1 [Sat Aug 22, 16
CE.]
Mark 2:1 TLT “again he entered into
Capernaum, during the hot days of summer…”

Furthermore,
given the parallel language[20] of Matthew 8:5-9:8; 12:46-13:52;
Mark 3:20-5:43; Luke 7:1-8:56, I find good reason for placing all the events
within those passages within a very few days of said events on Av 30 and Elul 1
[Sat Aug 22,] 16 CE.
Additional considerations:
Luke, along with Matthew, Mark, Acts, Revelation, and
probably at least some of Paul’s epistles were almost certainly written in
Hebrew before being translated first to Aramaic, and then from Aramaic to
Greek. Learn more re this very valuable info, towards the end of this video

Scrolls scholar and researcher from Jerusalem. Also please consider the diagram

[2] Please notice, and carefully consider!, footnote #14! Selah!
[3] Here it becomes obvious that the “second-first Sabbath” is a reference to the 1st priestly cycle of the 2nd half of the year. It is also worthy of notice that the reason the Pharisees were complaining had more to do with the fact that the Sacrifice of the Omer of the Jews had not yet been brought, whereas per Yeshua’s and per Scriptural reckoning said Sacrifice of the Omer, the Waving of the Sheaf, was to be brought on the morrow of this very day! Cf. footnote #5, especially it’s quote re not eating of the crops until after the Sacrifice of the Omer had been brought. Hopefully, given the significance of this placement in time, Yeshua’s response to the Pharisees will now open itself to a fuller meaning than otherwise!
[4] Re my basis for placing Luke 6:1-5 on one and the same Sabbath as Luke 6:6-11, and likewise for the pairs Matt 12:1-9 vs. Matt 12:10-15, and Mark 2:23-28 vs Mark 3:1-12, please cf. this link!
[5] With this placement of the picking of the grain falling on the very day of Wave Sheaf sacrifice this event takes on a lot of significance it would not otherwise have. Cf. the following words of Nehemiah Gordon! This kind of significance makes this passage quite a strong argument in favor and support of this particular scenario (for instance in comparison to my initial attempt at finding a satisfactory scenario to the placement of these events.) Quoting Nehemia Gordon:
“Another
passage… is Joshua 5,11. This verse reports the events surrounding the
cessation of the Manna shortly after the Children of Israel's entered into the
Land of Canaan,
"And
they ate of the produce of the land on the morrow after the Pesach [sacrifice],
Matzot and parched [barley] on this very day. And the Manna ceased on the
morrow when they ate of the produce of the land...".
As may be
recalled, the Children of
Israel were forbidden to eat of the new crops until the day of the Omer
Offering as we read in Lev 23,14
"And
bread and parched [barley] and Carmel you will not eat until this very day
until you bring the sacrifice of your God; it shall be an eternal statute for
your generations in all you habitations."
Clearly Josh
5,11, which describes the eating of "Matzot and parched (barley)... on
this very day" is a reference to the command in Lev 23,14
"And
bread and parched (barley)... you will not eat until this very day…"
Thus Joshua
5,11 is reporting that the first Omer Offering in the Land of Israel was
brought on the "morrow after the Pesach [Sacrifice]" after which the
Children of Israel were permitted to eat of the produce of the land, which they
immediately proceeded to do.”

[12] This placement of this event, that is, on the eve of the New Moon gives added support and strength to this scenario given that it allows Yeshua to spend the evening hours at Mt. Samaria and what was likely a favorable spot for the observation of the New Moon. Additionally, placing this event a week earlier seems unlikely in that it would somehow defeat the purpose of going to the feast of the Jews in Jerusalem in the first place. Cf. also the much less likely scenario as portrayed in my first attempted scenario.
[13] Given that obviously, per verse 45, other people from the feast in Jerusalem were already in place upon Yeshua’s return it seems unlikely that his return would have happened prior to a few days, long enough to travel the distance by foot, after the completion of the Feast of Unleavened Bread in Jerusalem. Cf. the much more strained and unlikely scenario displayed within my prior attempt at finding a valid scenario.
[14] Notice the implications of Sabbath #8 coinciding with the 50th Day, the Day of Jubilee, is, in and of itself, intended to be an ever recurring realization of the Kingdom of God and the release from bondage therewith associated. Indeed, remember!, ‘5’ means “a window to heaven, ‘50’ is a higher degree of the same, and ‘500,’ within the Holy Scriptures, as well as also within the writings of Ellen White, is a number with very strong ties to heaven and the 2nd coming of Christ!
Notice also how that this numbering from 1 through 8 re-emphasizes the importance of beginning all reckoning with the very point of beginning, not the end of it, as in numbering each of the seven weeks of Omer based upon the last day within each set of seven days!
Notice how the term used by Luke, “σαββατω δευτεροπρωτω,” in the context of the actual setting in time as evidenced within this calendar, is clearly teaching us that the day of the Waving of the Sheaf, Hag HaOmer, is indeed recognized as Sabbath #1!

[16] For the purpose of finding the proper order of sequence between the events recorded in the four gospels; Five series of events, arranged in their parallel passages [and in order of timed sequence:]
1) Matthew 12:10-15, Mark 3:1-12, and Luke 6:6-11 describe one and
the same event, healing the man with the withered hand.
2) Likewise Matthew 9:9-10-14-18-20-27-32; 10:1-11:1, Mark 3:13-19,
and Luke 6:13-16 describe one and the same event, the calling and the
appointment of the 12 disciples. [Matthew 9:9 is the beginning of the 38th
partition of Shem Tov’s Hebrew Matthew; indicating, as it seems (37; 1,) a new
section as it is beginning with Matthew himself being called.]
3) Thirdly, Matthew 8:1-5-13,
and Luke 6:17-49; 7:1-2-11-17 describe one
and the same event, teaching the blessings, etc., moving on to Capernaum, healing a leper, and the servant of the centurion, moving on to Nain,
resurrecting a dead boy.
4) Fourthly, Matthew 11:2-6 and Luke 7:18-30 are clearly describing
one and the same event, John in prison, sending two disciples to Yeshua with
a question.
5) Fifthly, Matthew 8:14-16-18-23-28-; 9:1-8; 12:46-50-;
13:1-52, Mark 3:20-21-22-31-35-; 4:1-35-;
5:1-21-25-35-; 6:1-7-14-29-35- Luke 8:4-19-22-26-39; teaching parables to much people, being approached by his mother and brethren;
Peter’s wife’s mother at Peter’s house on the
Sabbath; healing many possessed by devils; sailing in a storm on the foremost of the days and calming the storm;
miracle at Gadarenes and the Legion demon entering the 2000 swine; Herod
beheading John.
Seeing the above five
parallel records of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, it becomes obvious that Matthew
and Luke cannot both have their records in the order of occurrence, thus it
cannot be argued that if one of their sequences is out of order, then also this
is an argument against any certain scenario. Given the express emphasis on
order as claimed by Luke in Luke 1:1, 3, I find the present scenario very
satisfactory, that is, where the above five sequences are indeed found to be in
order per the records of both Mark and Luke and where Matthew’s records do not
seem to pay particular heed to the order of sequence. [Indeed, this scenario seems quite attractive and preferable in
comparison to my
initial attempt at finding the correct scenario, most especially whereas in
the prior scenario I was forced to place Luke 6:6 as an event subsequent to Luke 6:12, 13; 7:11, 19.]
