It came to pass when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judah in
the days of Herod the king, behold astrologers came
from the East to Jerusalem, |
|
|
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days
of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from
the east to Jerusalem, |
|
Matthew 2:1 |
George
Howard:[1] It
came to pass when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judah in the days of Herod
the king, behold astrologers came from the East to
Jerusalem, |
|
2 |
saying: Where is the king of the Jews who has been born. We
have seen his star [Jupiter] rising in the East and
(we) have come with important gifts to worship him.. |
|
|
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we
have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. |
|
Matthew 2:2 |
George
Howard: [2] saying:
Where is the king of the Jews who has been born. We have seen (his star) in
the East and (we) have come with important gifts to worship him.. |
|
3 |
Then King Herod called the sooth sayers in secret
and asked them what exact time the star had appeared to them. |
|
|
Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men,
enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. |
|
Matthew 2:7 |
George
Howard: [3] Then
King Herod called the magicians in secret and asked them well
concerning the time the star (appeared) to them. |
|
4 |
They
harkened unto the king and went, and behold the star which they saw in the
East was going before them [that
is, the star kept moving from east to west upon the sky… as they had been
doing] until they came
to the place. When they entered Bethlehem it stood [still facing] the opposite [direction,] the
[direction] from which it was born [the East where it rose; thus beginning
its retrograde motion, from west to east, upon the sky]. |
|
|
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the
star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and
stood over where the young child was. |
|
Matthew 2:9 |
George
Howard:[4] They harkened unto the king and
went, and behold the star which they saw in the East was going before them
until they came to the place. When they entered Bethlehem it stopped before the place where the
child was. |
|
5 |
They harkened unto the king and went, and behold the star which
they saw in the East was going before them [was facing them; that is, it kept pointing (relative to
zenith) in the same direction as the men from the east were traveling] until they came to the place. When they entered Bethlehem it
stood over against the place where the child was. [AND/OR: When they entered Bethlehem it stood still while
turning its face towards the place of its origin.] |
|
|
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the
star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood
over where the young child was. |
|
Matthew 2:9[5] |
|
|
6 |
When they saw the star they
rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. |
|
|
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great
joy. |
|
Matthew 2:10[6] |
|
|
7 |
They came into the house, found
him and his mother Mary, knelt before him, worshipped him, opened their
sacks, and brought to him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. |
|
|
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young
child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they
had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and
frankincense, and myrrh. |
|
Matthew 2:11[7] |
|
|
8 |
Then they
were commanded in a dream by the angel who spoke to them not to return to
Herod; so they returned to their land by another route. |
|
|
being warned of God in a dream that they should not return
to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. |
|
Matthew 2:12[8] |
George

by the angel who spoke to them not to return to Herod; so they returned to
their land by another route. |
|

take the boy and his mother, flee to Egypt and stay there until I tell you,
because Herod will seek the boy to kill him. |
|
|
And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord
appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and
his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word:
for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. |
|
Matthew 2:13[9] |
George
Howard: As they were going, behold the
angel of the Lord appeared unto Joseph (saying:) Arise, take the boy and his

Notice how
the translators have been able to
maintain the original meaning throughout each and all of these four (I-IV)
translations, while yet changing considerably the order of words, most
especially in the Hebrew to Aramaic translation! Cf. also Matthew 27:46! The most likely reason for these changes are no doubt
the translators’ desire to clarify Hebrew concepts of time that are not
immediately familiar to other cultures, languages, and people... |

Notice
also how the reverse translation, from the Aramaic of the Syriac Peshitta MS
to the Hebrew of the Du Tillet MS, is much more of a literal word for word translation!
Likewise the Aramaic to Greek translation… Notice
also that, in contradistinction to Du Tillet’s text, I do not find it
reasonable to perceive Shem Tov’s Matthew 28:1 as a reverse translation from
either the Aramaic or from the Greek! Cf. Syriac Peshitta[20] and the Lamsa translation[21]! |

Inclosures; Shemini Atzeret] which
is after the Feast [of Tabernacles,]
Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any
man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. |
|
|
In the last day, that great day
of the feast, Jesus stood and cried,
saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto
me, and drink. |

[13] Notice that although Yeshua is not being asked specifically
re the Day of Sabbaths [cf. verse 10; per the Jews reckoning the 8th,
15th, etc. days of reckoning towards Pentecost began on Thursdays
that year (18
CE) and had no connection with the Sabbaths,] nevertheless his answer to
those that ask him is made in terms of the Day(s) of Sabbaths, thus indicating
Yeshua’s emphasis upon Scriptural reckoning of the Days of Omer (in
contradistinction to the reckoning of “the Jews.”) Considering my
findings re the timing of this event, the 2nd or 3rd
Sabbath [out of 8] towards Pentecost, this reference of his should not be
surprising, nor is it anachronistic.
Sabbaternas Dag. Det passar verkligen in i tidsskeendet!
[15] Notice that the KJV is partially reflecting the Greek
Textus Receptus version, which version seems to have retained the plural format
found in the Syriac Peshitta while yet not reflecting the understanding that
those words are pointing to the Day of Sabbaths. That is, KJV has lost even
more by changing the plural to singular. Cf. also Luke 4:16 below!

[19] There are 19 instances of the Aramaic word “רמשא” within the New Testament, out of which 7 instances are found within Matthew (Matt 8:16; 14:15; 16:2; 20:8; 26:20; 27:57; 28:1; Mark 1:32; 4:35; 6:47; 11:11, 19; 13:35; 14:17; 15:42; John 6:16; 20:19; Acts 4:3; 28:23. )
Of the 19 passages above, all except Matt 28:1, are translated, in the KJV, as either evening, even, or eventide! Why would Matt 28:1 warrant a different translation, i.e. except that the Vatican has a desire to fool the people in favor of their own agenda?!!
Also, within 16 out of those 19 passages one and the same Greek word is being used (ὄψίος – meaning “late; feminine (as noun) afternoon (early eve) or nightfall (later eve)” Strong’s G3798. Would make sense to me if “late” is a pointer to the last portion of the Scriptural day, i.e. before sunset, or at least before the stars become visible! Cf. its root G3694 – the back beginning a little after the head! That is, a little after sunset, but before full darkness, would seem likely?!) The exceptions are Mark 11:11 (ωρας - meaning ‘hour’;) Acts 4:3; 28:23 (ἑσπέρα – meaning ‘evening.’ Cf. “ἀστήρ” – meaning “star” Strong’s G792! Remember the Jewish emphasis upon the closing of Sabbath once three stars become visible!)

[26] A comparison between the Greek and Aramaic (Syriac

reference to the hot season of the year, that is, that portion of the year that
ended with the Feast of Ingathering, that is, before Tishri 22 and the Eighth
Day Feast.

[42] Notice carefully!: The ruler of the synagogue is reacting because of this day being a Seventh-day Shabbat, and because it is the Day of Sabbaths! To Yeshua and to the Scriptural calendar the Day of Sabbaths always coincides with the Seventh-day Sabbath. Not so to the Jews, to them it may fall only on Day One, Day Two, Day Four, or Day Six, not on Day Three, Day Five, or Sabbath! Indeed, this particular year it fell on the Sixth Day of the week. Accordingly, and as best I may conclude, Yeshua healed this woman during that hour or so between the beginning of a new day and before the conclusion of the prior day. That is, after sunset [Friday night,] but before the time when three stars were visible on the evening sky.
[43] Cf. this link!
[44] Notice that in Luke 13:14, 16 KJV is perfectly reflecting the Greek Textus Receptus version, which Greek in this instance is using the singular and thus missing the understanding of this passage being a reference to the Day of Sabbaths, that is, Pentecost! Cf. Luke 4:16 above!

Just detta

sabbath day”.

[63] Per John 7:2 Yeshua spoke these words at the feast of Tabernacles, apparently while giving reference to a past event at an earlier Pentecost Sabbath. I find no indication that the reference would be to anyone having been healed in immediate conjunction with the timing of those words of Yeshua.
Further, I find it interesting that the word “taber*” is found only once in KJV of each of the four gospels, and that in the Syriac Peshitta the Aramaic word “@LHNC,” translated ‘tabernacles’ is found only once in the entire NT. However, Matthew 17:4, Mark 9:5, and Luke 9:33 all use “OILHN” (found three times in the NT,) and the Hebrew “@LH” meaning “cover(ing)” (Strong’s H2921-2922) are all closely related.
[64] An important thing to consider here is this: What particular man is Yeshua here giving reference to? Is this a reference to either 1) the man with a withered hand, or 2) to one or both of the events recorded in Luke 13:11-21 and 14:1-6? Or else, 3) is this a reference to an event not specifically recorded in the Scriptures? It seems to me as though item #3 would be the easy cop out option, while item #1 doesn’t quite seem to fit Yeshua’s words “made a man every whit whole.” Furthermore, item #1 is an event that took place well over one year prior to this event, perhaps more than two years (if my present scenario [present scenario: ”5941[(?)] 09 15 2027 [2010-12-22]”; cf. this link] is in error on that point?) But if this is a reference to item #2 above, then my present scenario is in error, because I’ve presently placed the events of item #2 at the Pentecost following this event, that is, in the summer of 18 CE. If true, then either one or the other of these events would have to be corrected in my scenario. [Well, this discovery was the beginning of this revised scenario as improved upon this.]

stund: ”5941[(?)] 09 15 2027
[2010-12-22]”;
version].
Johannes 7:23, “the sabbath day”, “sabbatsdagen”, jämför vad som sagts ovan
under Lukas 14:1 med motsvarande fotnot!
