Dear
Friend,
There
has been some time since my last mail to you. I imagine that, in the meantime,
you, as I, have found reason for focusing your attention and your thoughts on
more than a thing or two of great value…
A little afterthought re my last mail to you…
One
of the thoughts that came to me since my last mail, the one with a copy of an
article about the sins of the Midianites, had to do with these words of Jesus:
“A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in
his own house.”
(Matthew 13:57 and Mark 6:4.)
Not
that I have any wish whatsoever to be called a prophet, but I have always
desired to attain to a better understanding of such things in my own life that
has to do with cause and effect, and it is my understanding that the word
‘prophet’ applies to someone that is somehow able to foretell what is coming
based upon causes that are and has been, that is cause and consequence…
Well,
after some thought it came to me, indeed, in consequence of my prior mail to
you, that said mail of mine could easily have been misunderstood by such people
as may be somewhat familiar with my own past experiences in life. Thus, by
reading my letter from that point of view, my letter could potentially be
misunderstood as a subtle accusation on my part, in spite of the fact that such
a thought had never ever entered my mind! On the other hand, another reader of
my mail, someone that never knew me personally, would not be likely to read my
letter from such a point of view, nor to take it as a personal accusation.
There would not be any reason for so doing, would there? Now, if you think
about it, isn’t this kind of thing the very reason for our tendency to accept
the teachings brought to us by strangers, from far away lands, much more
readily than very similar messages that are being brought to us by people close
to us, by our own family members, by our neighbors, or by people in our very
own local church?
Think
about it! Perhaps there would be rich blessings inherent in considering what
values we might have available very close to home? Lessons learned by people
close to us, people that have found reason for considering more closely the
reasons for undesirable consequences that may be hitting each or all of us in
our own local community or within each our own family? Wouldn’t there be a
potentially very great blessing inherent in listening attentively whenever we
may, at first, be feeling falsely accused…? Perhaps, if we’d rather stop
ourselves for a minute and think, rather than doing what may seem only too
natural, to defend ourselves, or even to point our finger back against the
messenger bringing us a message that may somehow feel like a personal
accusation of sorts… Wouldn’t that be better? Wouldn’t there be some
potentially great blessings in such an alternate attitude? Perhaps there are
heretofore unnoticed realities to be learned and recognized from the
recognition somehow discerned by someone in our midst, by someone, anyone, whom
we think we may know very well… Perhaps we should each step back, listen a
little more objectively, recognize that each of us are created with unique
gifts and with unique abilities to discern, that, in a way, even those closest
to us may be discerned as a messenger from another world… Indeed, didn’t
Jesus too experience how that his very own family, as well as the people of his
home town, rejected his teachings, even while Jesus wished them nothing but
good and the blessings of God. Accordingly, shouldn’t this example out of
Jesus’ own life serve us as a message of salvation that we may apply, each in
our own locality, and each in our very own family?
Be
that as it may, if anyone, you, were to feel that something in the above is
hitting home… Well, shortly after my above referenced mail, God used one of my
dear old friends for sending me a wonderful PowerPoint presentation which I
hope may serve as balm on a hurting wound. Please enjoy the wonderful gifts our
Lord and Creator might offer you by means of this link!
What else may be a timely message? What about all we see and
hear re 2012? What about Jesus’ Second Coming? What should we expect for
ourselves within the near future? Perhaps the future is much closer to our
present than we ever thought? Will there be safety… or the lack of it?
Did
you know that the exact date being attached to the end of the Maya calendar is
due within a very few days of now, that is, already by October 28, 2011?!!!
Not, as commonly thought and taught, on December 21, 2012! Well, until yesterday,
I wasn’t aware of that either, but, as it may appear, those in the know are
making that quite clear. On the other hand, the message re whatever event(s)
that are supposed to be associated with that date is much more nebulous
or unclear, at least so far as events in the exterior physical world is
concerned… Most of the teachers of those things that I’ve seen seem to agree
that the essential thing is for each and all to prepare and to purify
themselves in thought and in action. Well, to me at least, this seems very much
the same as that which I perceive as a most essential message of the Word of
God, and much the same as that which I perceive in the terms “righteousness by
faith” and “the message of 1888.” To me these terms are indeed most important,
terms that I associate with being ready and prepared for the coming of the
Messiah… and, as well, to be prepared for each and every tomorrow, be such in
regards to the short term, the ever present now, or to the long term…
It
been said over and over again that no one knows the time for the Second Coming
of Messiah… (Cf. Romans 13:11 as well as Matt 24:36 and Mark 13:32.) On the
other hand, Ellen White is the author of both of the following passages:
”Different
times were repeatedly set for the Lord to come and were urged upon the
brethren; but the Lord showed me that they would all pass by, for the time of
trouble must come before the coming of Christ, and that every time that was set
and passed by would only weaken the faith of God’s people. For this I was
charged with being the evil servant that said in his heart, “My Lord delayeth
His coming.” ”
(E. G. White, EW 34.1)
”The
mountains shook like a reed in the wind, and cast out ragged rocks all around.
The sea boiled like a pot and cast out stones upon the land. And as God spoke the day and the hour of Jesus’ coming and
delivered the everlasting covenant to His people…”
(E. G.
White, EW 34.1)
Well,
it may not always be all that easy to properly and exactly understand what is
being meant by passages such as these, most especially as it touches upon
things that have not yet happened, or, perhaps, as we keep applying such
prophecies upon a future yet to be… I believe the wise thing to do is to bring
to mind Jesus’ own words re just how we are to treat prophecies, that is, by
being careful to pay heed to and remember the exact original words of such
prophecies, while then continually being watchful for anything and everything
in our everyday life that may, in fact, represent a fulfillment of such a
prophecy, whether in part or in full (cf. John 14:28-29!) Otherwise it is only
too easy to superimpose one’s own preconceived ideas and to create false expectations,
upon the words of prophecy, such that in the end we do not even recognize the
obvious fulfillment of the prophecy even while it may be staring us in the
face. That is, great disappointments are due to false expectations! And, even
then, the real and true fulfillment may be eons beyond that which we might have
been able to conjure up merely with our own imagination. But perhaps this
reflects merely my own experiences? Not yours?
As
you should have noticed by now, I’ve been focusing very much upon that which
touches on God’s own reckoning of time and upon God’s own calendar as defined
and used in the Holy Scriptures. For one thing the Word of God makes it very
clear, consider for instance the first angel’s message of Revelation 14, that
it is the present, the now, every now, that is of essence. Only in the present
is it possible to choose and to make decisions, or isn’t that true? Tomorrow
has not yet come, and yesterday cannot be changed…
To
me it is becoming ever more obvious that God, from the very beginning of time,
has set up a very special series of dates with His beloved People, with His
wedded Wife. Those days are designed to be very special days, feast days,
Sabbaths. And that applies not only to every Seventh Day of the week since the beginning
of the creation of the universe, but also to seven very special annual feast
days that are defined by the motions of those heavenly bodies that God created
in the very midst of the creation week, that is, that He created on the Fourth
Day…
If
you are familiar with the Biblical concept of chiasms, which word describes the
fact that in the Bible we find the most important messages, the key messages,
in the very midst of every single story. Well, think about that, and consider
the importance God must be placing upon time itself, and upon the very basis
for keeping time, that is, as emphasized by the point in time, within the
creation week, chosen for creating those heavenly time keepers, the Sun, the
Moon, and the stars! Would it ever make sense for the Creator to undo His own
highest priorities? Why would the Creator ever wish to turn our focus away from
the importance of becoming ever more familiar with, and awed by, all the beauty
and all the essentials that are tied to that which we associate with the word
heaven(s)?
Don’t
we have a good reason for questioning rather our own thoughts, our own belief
systems, based as those are upon nothing more than traditions which have
gradually lost touch with their own origin? Or isn’t there a distinct difference
between that which is being defined by the term “ceremonial laws” such as
describe only laws defined by men, that is, in contradistinction to all such
laws as are solidly anchored upon the Creator’s own pure and Holy Word? Or
isn’t it true that the rituals and the ceremonial laws is all that which God
had always detested, even from the very beginning, because all such are by
definition missing the very point of that which our Creator is wishing to teach
us by our listening to and by heeding exactly that which He is recommending for
us? And aren’t there very distinct differences between God’s pure and Holy Word
as given to us through Moses, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, those
ceremonial laws that are nothing but deviations from that which belongs to God,
our Creator, alone?
This
morning, the morning of the Sixth Day, I read Paul’s letter to the Galatians. I
came to notice especially Paul’s reference to a certain law that was supposedly
given 430 years after a certain promise to Abram. What exactly happened at the
point of 430 years? Is that the time when Moses was given all that which he was
given on Mount Sinai? Or, is that the time when, on that very day, God led His
People out of Egypt, thus fulfilling His promise, thus fulfilling His agreement,
His law, the contract between Him and Abram? Consider it! Perhaps that’ll give
quite another twist and quite another spark to those words of Paul?!!!
As
time is passing I am noticing that the further I dive into this study of God’s
own reckoning of time, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, the more alone I’ve
become re my understanding of certain important details that apparently have
become forgotten since centuries and millennia in the past, that is, in
consequence of that which is also prophesied in Daniel 7:25. For
instance, this last one year I’ve been numbering the Biblical months such that
God’s annual feasts have been falling one month later that the corresponding
ones being observed by the Karaites and by others whose focus and intent is to
keep God’s annual feasts in accord with the instructions of Leviticus 23. In
consequence of this different reckoning my eyes have been opened to certain
things that otherwise I certainly would still be as blind to as are most
others…
I’ve
mentioned one such thing in a prior email, that is, the correspondence in time
between Christmas Day, 2010, and King Jeroboam’s feast in commemoration of
himself on the 15th day of the 8th Month. More recently
I’ve also come to recognize that the correct end point of the Mayan calendar is
October 28, 2011, rather than December 21, 2012 as commonly believed and
taught. Well, that day, October 28, 2011 happens also to correspond with
the Day of Trumpets announcing not only the 7th and last
month of the current Biblical year, but also the month within which is
found the beginning of the next Scripture year, the year associated with the
number 2012.
Furthermore,
I’ve felt quite blessed by realizing God’s guidance into a very special field,
which I had not expected to look into or learn anything about until it
happened, nor did I have much of any idea about those things before. The
subject matter was the Great Dark Day of May 19, 1780, and the Great Star
Shower of November 13, 1833 and the real time events behind those experiences
of our forefathers, which events have been widely published as fulfilling the
prophetic words of Jesus, our Messiah, that is, of Matt 24:29 and Mark
13:24-25. And this study has not been for naught. Following those recognitions,
I’ve come to recognize some potentially important connections between those
events and some current and upcoming celestial events that could, if worse come
to worse, have devastating effects upon our planet. These potential events
pertain to comets and meteors and may even have been exactly foretold by means
of certain Bible codes that have only recently been discovered and published
and which Bible codes identify the Jewish calendar year beginning this fall
2011…
It
may be that reading
about such things may be almost too thrilling to some, yes, even a bit
scary? Yet, in all of this I truly treasure having the conviction that I can
fully trust my Lord and Savior to carry me through even the worst of times for
the best of all of us. It is truly good to be able to commit myself into His
hands in the beginning of every day as well as continually, and to trust Him to
lead and guide me step by little step through my life and into the future. –
There truly exists no other insurance company that can ever keep anyone safe
from such accidents that truly are due to the powers of the universe, does it?
In
the end (cf. also this link,
especially the last sentence in the first paragraph) I sense a tremendous joy
and appreciation for the inheritance we all have received by means of the Advent
movement and by means of the focus and efforts of the pioneers of that
movement. I truly find a tremendous sense of security in focusing upon how I,
together with my family, together with my neighbors, and with others, are being
offered a continual cleansing of our thoughts, of our words, and of our deeds,
from all of that which holds us back from so many blessings that our Creator
has, since the beginning of time, been wishing to shower upon us, to give us
ever greater wisdom, delight, joy, happiness, health, and even longevity. Yes,
to become ever more one with those characteristics which belong to the God of
Love, the God of Life, our Creator… Indeed, to me this is genuine and very real
security!
My
wish and desire is for the peace of our Creator and our Redeemer to continually
rest over, heal, and strengthen all those ties the keeps each our families and
homes together,
Until
next,
Shalom,

[1] After having focused closely upon Scriptural chronology based upon the most original references and using the best tools available to me, I see little or no reason not to consider Scripture month #1, aviv (as used and applied in Biblical times,) as being based upon the aviv found on Mount Jerusalem, or perhaps more accurately, upon the current location of the Ark of the Covenant (while not upon the aviv found at hotter and lower altitudes, albeit within the boundaries of Israel, e.g. in the Jordan valley or in the Negev desert.)
