Identifying the
Meaning of Hebrew Words of the Holy Scriptures
Dawn vs. Dusk
Abstract:
The
Hebrew words “שׁחר” and “שׁכם” of the Scriptures, for ‘dawn’ and ‘dusk,’ are both rare enough
words that they are not even listed in my The New Bantham-Megiddo Hebrew &
English Dictionary containing 46,000 entries.
“שׁחר” (Strong’s H7835-39) is found in the Scriptures altogether 43
times as follows:

Notice
that prior to the time of King David this word “שׁחר” was always used with a qualifier. That is, H7837 was, not the
others. But then again, it may appear from the context that re the others the
reference was not to dawn in those others, i.e. the passages from Job and
Leviticus.

importance I see in this is that
